Again, I'm too lazy to walk across the room ... best as I recall, the kit uses
precut lengths of DMC floss and a spool of kreinik braid. My guess is that it
is expensive because of the silk ground, the bonded appliques, and the
extensive instructions which include a color photo plus Ms Berlin or a minion
seems to have hand drawn the design on the ground as well as the applique
shapes.
