Thank God I'm not the only one who considers sleep one of the most important
things in my day. I am at least an 8 hour if not more. I love my sleep time and treasure it above all other activities. If I don't get enough sleep I'm a grouch with a capital G. Thank God I'm not the only one who considers sleep one of the most important
things in my day. It *is* extremely important. I try to impress upon Kevin that he will be far more efficient if he's well-rested. You can actually do more if you sleep enough. They've found in study after study that you become mistake-prone and weirdly careless (often in dangerous ways) if you don't get enough sleep. It even makes it dangerous to drive -- as if a lot of the people out there are driving drunk (remember that when you're crossing the street, and be CAREFUL). ~~ Sooz ------- "Those in the cheaper seats clap. The stuff about Americans being sleep deprived, comes from professional
psychology studies. Kidding aside, if you really do get "visions and stuff", it is likely to be a sign that you are so sleep deprived, that you can't get adequate REM and "dreaming" time. So you have them when you are awake. (I knew someone like that. Seriously spooky). Did you know squirrels have to wake up out of hibernation to sleep and dream or they can't survive hibernation? Driving sleep deprived, or also hung over, is no less dangerous than driving
drunk. I've heard it said it is more dangerous. Though that would probably only be the case in that people know driving drunk makes you a bad driver and try to consciously be more careful. I watched a show about two years ago and they were talking about going thru
menopause. They said that one reason why women who are going thru the "change" sometimes are in a bad mood. Heat flashes wake them up and do not allow them to get adequate REM time. If you took anyone and jostled them awake just about the time they were falling asleep, you'd find they were not the friendliest person the next day. I was working with a new reduciton glass last night and could NOT get it to reduce to the brilliant gold that it was supposed to. Poop.
