Default Knitmaster / silver Reed

Hello,
Is there anyone in this group who uses Knitmaster/Silver Reed knitting
machines, or am I a "lonely girl"?

Hi Kari - no you are not alone. They have always been my favourite machine
and I have the 360, 580 and the 860 (midgauge)
What model/models do you have?

Hello Brenda,

My machines are...
120 (chunky punchcard), 580 (old faithful), and 830 (fine Gauge).

Do you get to use yours much?
I lost touch for a while and am slowly getting back; hence looking for
soulmates in the WWW.

Kari (in UK)

Hi Kari - yes I do have the machines all set up to use. There are a couple
of groups in Yahoo specifically for the Silver Reed/Singer machines. Several
of the people on them are in the UK. Where in the UK are you?

Brenda,

I am in a small village on the Northampton / Buckingham border.
I found 1 group in Google for Silver Reed, but not much action takes place
there (unless they all email each other off-list).
Then I found another group for British Machine Knitters, but you lot seem
more talkative on-list.
I can't seem to find the groups in Yahoo for Silver Reed. Have you got the
names?

Hello Kari - if you go to Yahoo groups and search you will find more. Here
are the 3 I was thinking of but they are not as active as some of the
general ones, not surprising as we are in the minority with that brand. At
least they are still being manufactured so we may catch up eventually!

Do any of them, perchance, accept knitting-machine-for-sale ads?

Silver Seams,
There is a for sale group on Yahoo, too. They specialize in MK machines and
equipment. I'll look up the address in a minute and post it.
