Default i have posted an article i read about Obama since i am curious

Like all of you i am extremely curious about your Elections, and i
read much, about the candidates i don`t know... i found this article
about Obama`s rhetorics very close to my own inpressions. And i want
to point out that i say Impressions....
Alas as a `curious about words` person, i keep listening reading
his , wonderful Show /speech ,, but can`t see content in what he
says.....

"... can't see content ..." seems to be the norm for almost all
political candidates here, although I know many people who seem to
believe there is content where there actually is none. My theory is
that issuing real content runs the risk of losing votes. Even the
"debates" are simply opportunity for candidates to make timed,
prepared comments related to the expected topics of questions, with
those prepared short speeches delivered in a carefully prepared manner
in order to appear candid and spontaneous. "Prepared" is key.
Slogans, sound bites, and appearance are the general modus operandi.
And isn't that sad!

It does seem rather interesting that with three content-free candidates,
Mirjam chooses to pick on only one of them, first calling him a
demagogue and now claiming that this particular bit of political
propaganda agitating against him is interesting enough to share.

Mirjam, does it bother you that a man whose father comes from Kenya
might become President of the United States? Why is that?

She wasn't picking on him. She was wondering about the wording in the
editorial.

Try again. She has called him a demogogue and here she is saying not
that the editorial has no content, but that Obama's speeches have no
content.

Yes you are right , But the difference is that , two of the candidates
have been more exposed in public life, thus we can compare between
their speeches and past deeds,
And i tottaly agree with you that Slogans Sound bites and appearances
take over Serious debates and Spontaneous reactions and that it is
SAD .. very sad and it is so sad since other countries like our`s
learn from this USA methods of elections .. Which might be great for
American life , but really don`t suit us , even though some of our
politicians like them.

Elizabeth, you might be surprised , but until i saw the film with
Obama`s grandmother in Kenya, i had no idea where his father was born.
and i was touched that he donated money for a school in his late
father`s village. After i saw that , I knew it , but didn`t think it
matters, After all Usa populations, comes from many continents, and
the governing bodies should include people from all those
backhrounds . I am though interested in
the New To me man `s opinions , ideaology, public law work he did
etc,,, And i hope that these are open and liberal, and that he has not
many background prejudices.

Thank you Judy ,, yes i was wondering about these article being so
different than the High rating and all the people who vote for
him .... As i explained in another letter , he is the only one of the
three candidates that is Tottal unknown ,, thus naturaly my attention
goes to his campaign.

Well Elizabeth, i may have an opinion, about how his speeches Sound to
me personally !!!
I am a looker from the side from over the border!!! remember i have no
sentiments for any of your parties. You are in the middle of it and
probably have your own party prfference. You teach social science, i
laid a question in this News group whose `regular` writers Praise
themselves time and again, about knowing Everything!!!! Time and
again people come here with Health, educational and other issues,,,, I
am reading and watching the USA elections, and i wondered, how come
that so many people are voting for him and than Such an article can
appear ,,, instead of explaining to me why the writer wrote what he
wrote, you use the opportunity as you always do , to start a private
flame war against me ...

Yes, you can. But it seems to me that you're not listening very well,
if you think they are any more content free than those of his
opponents.

Not always, Mirjam. I haven't responded to you in a very long time.
And I did answer your question: the author of the article is simply
picking up the Clinton campaign's new accusation.
