Any one have any insight into embroidered greeting cards Cath If you mean making greeting cards using as the main front decoration a small piece of embroidery, I do it all the time. I start with a small (2.5 x 3.5 or so) counted cross picture. I iron on non-woven interfacting to the back and then trim the edges. If I am making a notecard I go on to the next step, if not, I print a message on card stock or a ready make blank card (Michael's is my source.) Next step: I cut a hole (circle, oval, or rectangle) in the blank notecard or piece of card stock using my Fiscars cutter or exacto knife. Center the embroidery behind the window and hold it in place with a sheet of white paper glued on all four sides to the back of the window edges. As far as insights...Smaller designs work best as too large and the hole you cut "gaps." Always print your message before cutting the hole. Circles make the best windows; ovals are hard to make small enough and rectangles often have corner problems. Rachel in Scottsdale |
