Default Looking for pins

I am trying to find 26 gauge pins (not sterling). I cannot find them. Does
anyone have a good source for these? I would like to try make a bracelet
with pearls. I know these are great for this design.

I have searched the LBS's in my area for these. I have also searched the
internet. Can't seem to find them.

THanks for any and all help you can provide.

Thanks
Amy

Are you making the Kate McKinnon bracelet that Linda showed us awhile ago
(Shag Carpet of Pearls / Sea of Pearls)? If so, try Rio Grande. Kate said
that's where she buys her headpins.

They are easy enough to make yourself - instructions have been posted to the
group here many times.

In the last issue of Beadwork with a Kate McK bracelet, she uses base metal
headpins, not silver.

Because silver tarnishes, and it would be difficult to polish the silver
without causing harm to the pearls/woven bracelet.

I know. That's why I love to work with pure silver!

ah - okay.
just for what it's worth, PURE silver doesn't tarnish like sterling
does . . . . .

It gets a pale golden sheen, though....

Yes I would love to attempt to make one of those bracelets. Is there any
other place that carries these items?

How can you make pins? Would it look more like an eye pin? Does anyone have
a view of them or where I can find the instructions?

THanks

Kate McKinnon supposedly says not to use sterling silver because if you
polish the silver you can harm the pearls. There's a person on eBay who
sells 26 gauge 2" long NOT ss pins --
http://stores.ebay.com/j-wiseman-designs

I've never bought from her, and I haven't bothered to go look at my Kate
McKinnon book to see if that's true -- so this is in the FWIW category at
this point!

Here are some instructions from Step-by-Step beads for making head pins out
of fine silver:
