Default OT Bubble and Squeak

I have a recipe that Juliette (who hasn't posted in a while, but may be
lurking - Hi!) sent me, and another one from the Colonial Williamsburg
cookbook.

I'm ok with the recipes for the patties/balls of cabbage and potatoes, but
what about the gravy? Is a Bisto gravy good enough? (Bisto is a brown gravy
mix, that to my delight is also vegetarian)

rofl, i didnt realize there was a 'recipe' for bubble and sqeak.
here we just do a bit of a fry up of the left over veggies from the big
roast dinner. whatever there is we cut up to bite size and it all goes in
one big pan together. then we have it with leftover cold roast meat and some
sort of salad as lunch the next day.
a recipe 'and' gravy...go figure, . who'da'thunk

I was always told that the veggies were mashed, not diced ...... and without
the gravy

Don't usually have gravy with bubble and squeak but don't se why you
couldn't I usually add an Oxo stock cube when I use Bisto and it always
tastes good enough for my family

The Chownings Tavern at Colonial Williamsburg serves gravy with it, and my
DH really loves that. I was dissappointed the cookbook didn't have the
recipe as served in the tavern. Anyway, I used Bisto gravy, and it was
deliscious!
