Adjustable knot for bracelet
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find instructions on how
to tie an adjustable knot suitable for a bracelet. The one I've seen used most often is referred to as an Adjustable Chinese Knot. Thanks for your help. |

8^) Howdy!
Well, there are a lot of adjustable knots, as well as a whole family of knots that can be used for adjusting. The difference is subtle. Like Zen, the more you discuss it, the further away from it you get. But the pre-emergent site for Chinese Knotting is this one: http://www.chineseknotting.org/ If you're looking to make the bracelet adjustable, with a semi-permanent knot, whenever I do that I use a blood knot with an extra turn or three, or (if I have the tool) an opposing pair of nail knots. Blood knot: http://www.scoutxing.com/knots/blood...blood_knot.htm Nail knot: http://www.killroys.com/knots/nail.htm (Tip: Though it's called a "Nail" knot, it's *ever* so much easier with a straw!) Good luck, happy knotting, and please be sure to come back & let us know how your search turns out! (i.e. "Pay it forward"!) Jimbo Wretched Kinker of Cordage Cords kinked while you wait. Eyes spliced, splices eyed. Cross-eye splices (off the bight) our specialty. (PS: As an afterthought (which explains why it's here in the PS), you could make your bracelet quite large, then tie a slipknot in the off side. Just throw a half-hitch in it & draw it up tight around the inevitable bight. You could pull the slipped loop out to make the rest of the bracelet smaller, and vice-versa. Quick & dirty, but you might use it someday.) ZeroSignalNow wrote: I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find instructions on how to tie an adjustable knot suitable for a bracelet.
