What's the deal with White Jeans Machine model numbers?

What's the deal with White Jeans Machine model numbers? I'm trying to
make sense of them so I can do comparison shopping. Except they don't
make sense. One web site says that #4040 is the same as #4075. I just
want one that does one-step button holing at the best price. Help!

Like most appliances/electronics that are available through a wide
variety of outlets, they have lots of different item numbers. Each
retail outlet will try to get their own item numbers (with or without
a change in features). That's how come places like ABC Warehouse can
say "we'll match your best price on anything we have in stock" so
easily -- the fine print says that it has to be the same model number.
And they're the only ones who sell that model number.

What about those within a retail outlet? I went to buy a Jeans Machine
at a local Hancock's. They had on display a 4042 for $249.99. But they
didn't have any in stock. So they tried to sell me a 4040 for the same
price. I told them to call me when they get more 4042's.
