Default anyone using a computer-generated pattern?

wrote:
okay...let me try again to explain WHY i need a 'working copy'...

i cut glass over a light box...i.e. i need a pattern to cut from....so
i use the
original drawing to cut my glass...

after it's cut, i need to place the glass onto of another pattern...
it HAS to be an exact duplicate because essentially that copy becomes
my 'working' copy...

if it's NOT an exact copy, the glass won't fit.

am i the ONLY PERSON in the world using the 'English method' of
cutting glass?

are all of you actually cutting out pieces of paper to use as templates
for your glass???? i'd think you'd still need a second copy to place
the
cut out glass, don't you?

remember...i live in the middle of NOWHERE...the nearest photocopy
machine is miles away...

Mike, thanks...i'll go check to see if i can download a trial copy of
that program.

A friend in the US who is a 'graphics' person, sent me two 'photo-shop'
copies
using the 'mosaic/stained glass' filter...i'm not thrilled with the
results...

maybe i'm a 'purist' but i'm not crazy about these computer-generated
designs...
but then again, i have only just started messing around with them...

i've been called a 'crafts-preservation specialist' in some
circles...maybe i'm
just 'old-fashioned' but i really do like the notion that i'm not using
a lot of
hi-tech to do my art glass stuff....that may change with time
however...
i'm not set in my ways...i'll try anything at least once...

Hi Arlene,
I work with fused glass mainly. There I have the same fitting problem,
maybe more severe as i have no tin seam to cover the gaps.

I have a printer/scanner that I can use as a copier, even enlarge the
drawings. ( cut the A4 paper in four, set enlargement to 200 procent
and you have an A2 drawing on four sheets)

I do not use any fancy software in design work, though sometimes I
play with and test colors on the screen.
