Default Relockable Loop Knot Announcement

Relockable Loop Knot Announcement.txt

Hi All,

This is a text file that will be crossposted to both
rec.crafts.knots and to alt.binaries. In alt.binaries, it will have
the scans of the knot attached. If your news server does not get
binary groups, let me know by e-mail and I'll send you a package with
all the knots.

This relockable loop knot will, in ordinary rope or twine,
invert and lock when pulled one way, and revert and unlock when pulled
the other way. In most materials, this can be repeated several times
before you need to loosen the knot. This makes it an adjustable loop
knot that you may find superior to a Midshipman's Knot for tent ropes
etc. The knot can be used as a bend, but it may slip if stressed to
the extreme. If used as a bend, the standing parts are points 'E' and
'G'.

Regards,
O J
