Default Firehouse angel question

I started stitching up the left side of the angel and have come to a part
that requires the gold braid. Since I do not like normal gold braid, should
I skip it, and let someone else tackle the braid or is this gold braid
easier to work than the Kreniek?

Also, for those who did parts with the gold, did you use two strands and a
loop start?

The Rainbow Gallery is wayyyyyyy easier than the Kreinik or DMC
metallics. It's very pliable, although it does tend to fray a little
bit. I usually knot it onto the needle so I don't have to deal with that.

IIRC, people are using one strand, but you should probably wait for
confirmation from someone who's actually worked on it!
