I need some opinions here please...don't be shy

I started a new quilt, Star Circle, and am now putting together the first
star block. The diamond segments are not sewn together yet and as I was
playing around with them (as one is wont to do at 2:00 am) I found two

other
combinations that I thought I liked just as much, if not better, and I am
now thoroughly muddled (and morning probably will not help that much) so

it
is decision time here and I need some help deciding please.

The photos are at http://community.webshots.com/user/kittykatchee

listed
as Star Blocks 1, 2 and 3 along with the EQ5 quilt pic for each.

Thanks, don't you just hate these mental roadblocks???

Hi Kitty,

I really like Star 2,- it's a bit 'deeper' looking

Hey Lynn

Thanks for having a look I liked it too, I just agree that it won't work
as well in this particular design. I'm in love with stars so maybe I'll do
some like it on a different background for a different piece, maybe a
Christmasy (sp?) type runner or hanging. Almost the time to start thinking
about holiday projects.

And I didn't get a chance to say hi yet, so welcome to the group! ~

ThanX, but Kitty's quilt is the MOST amazing thing here. It really reached
out and grabbed me ... and then ... I found myself not being able to break
free of the outer boundaries. Kitty's quilt needed to just keep going,
knowing no boundaries. HEY, that would be a neat name (No Boundaries).
*giggles* Then I remembered she said ... Don't be shy. Welperz, that's all
it took. ;^)

WOW!! That border design looks great and certainly does contribute to

the
design more than just "framing" it!! I haven't really focused on

borders, I
really like that effect. Thanks, I might just do that!

OK, here is what I think.

1 and 3 provide the movement and completion of the circle for the quilt.
3 defines the circle more (the red on the outside).
2 is disjointed (IMO) but causes more moevment in the quilt- in a
frenetic energy way.
Deb's amazing rework of the border adds more movement to the quilt
without changing the original interest and energy.

BTW I vote for 3 with the new border.
