Default Kite quilt help

A friend has asked me to seek the wisdom of this group. She is having
trouble with the Kite Quilt from "So Many Quilts" magazine of March/April
1998. The bottom half of the kite section curves inward no matter what she
does with it. If anyone here has made this quilt, do you have any handy
hints on its construction? TIA

Default Kite quilt help

Howdy!

Sew Many Quilts:
http://www.fonsandporter.com/storefront/kite.html

Is it the border that is curving?
Or the tails or bottom points on the kites?

If it's the border, I'd take it apart, re-measure, re-sew,
block it w/ the iron and some water spritzed on it.
Very carefully check those seam allowance and make 'em just
barely, less-than-scant 1/4"; that's a lot of little seams
to attach to the bottom of the quilt top, plenty of wiggle/curve room.
Looking at the picture, seems that even Liz (or whoever made
the sample) didn't get it perfectly straight. g

Good luck!
