You guys have got to see this thing. I used the "In your shoes" sock
pattern featured at crochetme.com some months back. The use of that
pattern, which is OK, with the absolutely ghastly color striping in the yarn
I had to play with ended up looking like something a kid pukes up after one
too many rides at the fairground.

I talk about the sock a few times in the previous blog entries. This has
been so awful that I'm obsessing over it.

striped or filled with pics.

Nothing wrong with that sock! Every sock has its purpose. Loud socks like
that, are for when you absolutely, positively, must herd cats!

Or, on a serious note, it is perfect for those skiing/camping/boating
weekends where everyone ends up sharing gear, and pretty hand knit socks
tend to go home with someone else. ("Oh, I thought you were giving me that
pair of socks since you did promise me a pair when we hiked Mule Pass last
year!", or "I just took them home to wash them for you!") As a result, I
always keep a pair of good, but ugly socks in my pack as "loaners"!

When things go really bad, there is nothing more precious than a pair of
warm, dry socks.

my dd(twentysomething) would love those, teens love colors mixed like
that. I have made and sold bags with all kinds of mixed colors for years.

Very colourful, I'll give you that... but I wouldn't necessarily call it
ugly! ;o)
