OT Question about The Twilight Zone TV show
Hey, do y'all remember an episode of The Twilight Zone that starred the
actress who played the blonde "beverly hillbillies" daughter EllyMae Clampett? She was having facial reconstruction surgery in the Twilight Zone episode, and until the very end of the episode, the viewer only saw EllyMae and none of the faces of the attending doctors and nurses? Maybe it was not the Twilight Zone, but one of those creepy shows that gave me nightmares as a child. Anyhow, the episode ended with EllyMae finally seeing herself in the mirror and screaming in sadness and terror. Everyone else around her looked like Picasso had drawn their faces, with his eyes closed and after a double martini, but Elly Mae's face was what we would call perfect. The doctor proclaimed that the surgery was a failure, and that EllyMae would just have to live with her horrible looks. Anyhow, I would like to know the name of that episode because my Stack and Whack butterflies are not turning out as planned, even worse than Picasso with a hangover, and so I am going to name them in accordance with that Twilight Zone episode. Wow Cyndi
You're good! I remember that episode too. Eye of the Beholder is also a neat name for a quilt. I rather like some of Picasso's work even though my favorite is Monet. What would happen if you cut another set of diamonds..in a coordinating
color (Compliment) and put one diamond of Wings and one of the Compliment? Or you could cut the Wing set in half and do one half diamond / one half Compliment diamond? BEFORE you even start to cut--lay it out on the Compliment fabric and see what it does....you might just like it....save the work you have done without losing it altogether. It won't be like you wanted it in the first place but it won't be a 'waste' either. Just another idea Butterfly "QuiltShopHopper" wrote in message ... TZ was on primetime when I was about 8 years old. My parents wouldn't let
me watch it. Somehow I did tune in to one episode: "Little Girl Lost," about a little girl who rolled out of bed and into the fourth dimension. Scared me silly. I thought such a hole might open at the head of my bed. I saw the Eye of the Beholder episode a couple of years ago on Nickelodeon. (Interesting to see how many now-well-known actors were on TZ, and how many now-famous writers wrote the scripts.) Oops.
http://tzone.the-croc.com/tzeplist/lost.html It aired in 1962, so I was 10. And apparently the reruns are on SciFi, not Nick. Ya know, TZ dolls and puppets did the very same thing to me. To this day, I
can't stand to see ventriloquists and talking dolls or that stupid Chuckie movie. Ain't it funny how a TV episode can alter your entire life? It sure wasn't funny at the time. Cyndi "IMS" wrote in message That show always gave me the creeps, not to mention terrible nightmares as a kid. Especially the walking dolls, or the talking puppet - I wouldn't have dolls in the house for years. I still shudder when I think of them. -Irene |

DH says that is the most famous episode ever of TTZ, because the ending
is so absolutely brilliant. I am sure your S&W is going to make a very interesting quilt, even if not quite a perfect S&W! Hey, Butterfly, 'complement', not 'compliment' - just a pet peeve...
sorry! BTW, I think she should just go with the bizzarro world S&W...
