Default finished Paula Nadelstern block

I just posted a picture of my first attempt at Paula Nadelsterns
kaleidoscope blocks. Early this morning I decided how I'm going to quilt
it, so today I will begin that. I'm thinking of a few clear seed beads to
dress up the inner star. Opinions?

You are a brave and wonderful person! That block makes me feel like I've been
sewing with mittens on my hands! Congratulations!

I think it's beautiful. The addition of a few sparkling
beads would make it even better!

I thought it was so purty, I shared it with Jazz.

I don't think it needs shiny tings to dress it up, but they certainly
will add to its many attractions.

I'd be torn between wanting to quilt a spiral (to watch it spin) or
rays, or like the stitching lines of a radiant beauty (concentric
circles with points between).

That's true, I haven't really decided what to do in the sky. I'm doing some
SITD in the star itself. I think I'm leaning toward the spin look, as I
pieced the background to give that effect with the seams already. They
disappeared though.

My Queen, it is fab! I love your background fabric. I would add
sparklies to the inner star, and also to the night sky BG. Nice points
and color choices. Love all of Paula's work. Nancycog in MD

I bought a rhinestone setter and Austrian crystals at the Houston show.
I'm thinking how wonderful some sparkle would look with a block like that.
The gal I bought them from makes quilts that remind me of Paula's.

I bet some beading along those diagonal seams WOULD really bring out the
rays the way you hoped!
