Hi Donna,

Jump right in. Would love to hear about what you're working on.

I'm new here so I'm just jumping in if that's ok. I hail
from the State of Washington and it's cold!

I just finished a pair of felted slippers that unfortunately
did not fit my aunt. But they fit me and now another will have
to be made. I'm also working on a crochet hat. It's a cute
pattern that I found on the web but it's also one of those
"am I really gonna wear this hat?" thingie.

My name is Donna, 2 kids all grown up and on their on and I'm
single (hate the word divorce!)

Hope to get to know you all soon. I've been knitting since my
gramma taught me when I was 9. Learned to crochet on my own.

So, hello!

Donna

I just finished the Kimono Shawl designed by Cheryl Oberle. If you
are on Ravelry you can take a peek here. I'm now knitting the same
pattern as a scarf, but using 10 horizontal repeats to make it
narrower.

I've knit two slouchy berets from this pattern...one in steel blue and
one in royal purple. If you want lots of slouch knit 2 extra pattern
repeats.

and last week I finished an ear flap hat for my son, and I have some
socks, an Infinite Scarf, and some socks on the needles.

take care, Linda D. in B.C., Canada

I am mostly busy sewing, making some fall and winter clothes, but the
asthma has subsided enough that I now feel I can knit while watching the
tv news. Nothing complicated, mind you, just something to keep the
fingers busy. So, I pulled out an old pattern - from the 1960s I think,
I bought it at a yard sale - for knitted slippers in two colors. Found
some leftover yarn, made a swatch, and, if all goes well, some people
will be getting knitted slippers for Christmas.

I'm knitting a stripy hooded sweater for my new grandson for Christmas
and then I plan to do sweaters for my two boys - chunky yarn should knit
up quickly I hope. I almost certainly have some medical stuff coming up
in the next few weeks so I shall take the knitting along to keep me busy
in waiting rooms.

I'm working on sweaters for DGS, DD, DS1, DS2 & DH. It is quite tricky
making sure that they don't know about their own, even if they see me
knitting somebody else's! DD's & DGS's are easiest in that respect as
she moved into her own place earlier in the year.

DS2's needs to have the seams sewn up, DH's still has the second sleeve
and the front and collar to do, and DS1's needs just about all of it
doing yet. DS2 has a day in hospital on 22nd Dec so I shall treat that
as a knitting day as much as possible!

I hope all your festive knitting is done or will be done in time.

I finished crocheting a Christmas stocking as a gift for a friend.
Working on knitting fingerless gloves now. When I finish those I have 2
neck warmers to knit.
