A million non-smileys to you. Yup, I will get onto ordinary email. I really
don't have everythingdown to the nuts and bolts, but I do understand that
evenings can be "cool: (60s?), called right chilly here. My thought is a
blazer, and all that goes or not with it. I will NOT be the bad image of a
"tourist yank"!!

Now that you have properly apologized...the correct clothing and
attire in NS is whatever your heart desires. I have been to events,
formal and otherwise, where you see anything and everything. We are
soooo laid back here, it is ridiculously nice. It is absolutely safe
to say that you can wear anything and nobody gives a hoot.

I think you should bring a light sweater or two, coming from Florida
you might not think it is so warm in June. However, please do not
bring skis etc in June. A shell, nylon jacket with no lining, is the
most you should need and then only later in the evening. We actually
have a not unreasonable climate, this current arctic blast is record
making. A lot of people wear shorts full time (unsuitably in some
cases but they do) but for example I wear jeans with tee shirt with or
without jacket, that sort of thing.

Will you be here the first week in July when we have the Nova Scotia
Tattoo ? That is the largest Tattoo outside of Scotland and quite
something to see. You have my email, send me your street address and
I will cause the NS Government to send you all this tourist
information lol

As you will see, I did not ****ing steal it. I have always credited
Bette Davis when I use it. Someone else was not giving her credit.

I think she had a glass of red wine in front of her too in that interview -
she did love her wine. I would watch every movie she made twenty gabillion
times - just loved her ... and her snotty ways.

Stamping foot - no, no! Credit where credit is due. Bette Davis
said it - I believe while doing an interview (not long before she
died) on Good Morning America. Despite the fact everyone was
already so gd pure, she was smoking a cigarette on set right in the
face of whatever that man's name was who used to do the show then.
Anchor's had long since given up smoking at that point. I can forget
him and his name but I happened to see that part of the show and I
can't forget Bette!!

Now smoking witches don't bother going after me - she smoked like a
chimney that's a fact - she did not die of lung cancer at an early
age. She lived her life as she thought to live it, was much to be
admired as a woman when being a woman in a major job was not an easy
thing, and was very successful at it. More power to her. I admired
her greatly. I don't smoke.

I knew that there was something up, but I usually go to the Optician`s other
office in the next town as he has some pretty steep stairs up to the
examination room here in Felixstowe, I had to cancel twice at the last
minute due to John being too ill to drive.

Anyway, my daughter Jane took me down to the Felixstowe one so it was third
time lucky - and I managed the stairs fine in any case!

John`s so much better today - he even took the dogs for a short walk. I
made him take one of our little two way radios just in case he had any
problems. I didn`t go with him - we have a very cold wind here today, and
that starts my angina off. What a couple of old wrecks!!!

Later on he even came round the supermarket with me, so he`s DEFINITELY
improving. It must be all the hugs he`s been getting from all you people!

Pat, my mom had an advance stage of cataracts before she finally went to

the eye
doctor. She no longer saw color. Geesh, talk about not taking care of
yourself...I digress; She had the surgery and it was a cinch. My mother
doesn't go to the doctor unless it's in an ambulance and she said it was
nothing.

Mine in a "tiny one" in my left eye making me corrected to 20-21 instead of
the 20-18 I am used to . I was told to wear sunglasses now if I am outside.
Cheryl

Good idea, especially since I live in the South, where we occasionally do get
sunshine....not bragging, just commenting.

I've had successful cataract surgery in both eyes and it definitely made a
difference in my color sense. May I suggest that everyone, everywhere wear
sunglasses as much as possible and make sure you have the proper UV coating
on your lenses, even the clear ones. It's definite that the sun, and/or
glare, plays a major role in all kinds of eye problems
