also Folkwear Patterns are great if you sew.

I like to use my dyed and painted fabrics with their patterns.

uh, Tink.....if'n you don't sew or dye, please do remember that I DO....but
don't melt things well yet, and perhaps we could work something out to our

I have a lot of silk from dharma...and Tink knows I can come over to
her house and use her machine and make anything she wants...will get
me outta my house G
Not that I won't sew for her at my house too....
And I can help with dyeing, though 90% of my dyeing experience is with
plants, rather than Procion or Dylon.

who won't even mention Rit. That's not dye.

Default OT - Where to find cool, artsy clothes?

....in real human sizes.

I'm looking for some great clothes. Here are two things I found that I
like:

http://snipurl.com/f8e3

Where would you suggest I look for more of the same?

Thanks!

Ooooh, they're cool! Couldn't tell you where to get more though. I tend to
wear climbing gear when visiting people about my jewellery. Dunno why, but
it seems to surprise people that I can be into extreme sports and something
artistic! I've just bought these seriously cool trousers
http://www.planetfear.com/product_de...18&p_id=64 69
in olive and they're great! I'm seriously considering buying a "smart" pair
just to wear out and not ruin on the rock!

Charlie.

I've bought from them, and have been happy with the items. I also love
Coldwater Creek clothing...

oh and if you have one near you I really like White House/Black Market -
they have very stylish clothes that are simple and elegant that really show
off nice accessories.

Art and Artifact: www.artandartifact.com
Ask for a catalog, because I didn't see a lot on a quick tour of the
website, but I get their catalogs 4 or 5 times a year, and I'm very happy
with the outfits I've bought. Going to wear one to my niece's wedding next
week.

I was going to say J.Jill. The thing with clothes -- that I learned
being in the fashion biz -- is that if you want people to notice your
unique style, you put your uniqueness into accessories, not the clothes
themselves (even if you can afford couture). I'm assuming you also
want people to notice YOUR product, Tink, and not the clothes
manufacturers' stuff -- plainer clothes are best for that. Plus you
always look unique and different by the combos YOU come up with, not
the appliques on your jacket.

If you want to have unique clothing, though, I suggest this tested
approach: Buy simple, solid-colored clothes that are made well.
Sprinkle with a few fabulous vintage finds (there are a million ways to
buy good vintage online), or a few more creative pieces, like that
beautiful blue-violet velvet coat you posted. Make sure your hair
looks great and is well taken care of, and your shoes looking really
good. Keep your makeup simple. That's it.

I've had people ask me to pick out their wardrobes for them (which I
have done), and offer me money to advise them on style. I looked into
making it a business, but realized I didn't like working with this sort
of customer enough to do it every day. Trust me.
