I use a parts cabinet like this:
http://tinyurl.com/72pdw4p

The bigger drawers are tall enough for the Kreinik spools to stand
upright so you can see the numbers. They are also big enough to hold
the RG cards and 20 or more packages of beads. I don't have nearly as
much as some other people (e.g. The Karen, Ellice, Donna), so it works
for me. The smaller drawers also *just* tall enough for the #5 perle
cotton balls. I also label the fronts of the drawers, e.g.
"Sparklies" (for the metallics), "Beads", "Wisper", etc.

HTH!

Hey - I slightly resemble this remark. Honestly, it truly amazes me what I
find hidden away. Kind of scarey. As I'm destashing/organizing, I've
decided that the give away unstitched charts that are kitted, I'm keeping
the floss, but mostly sending the material with (if I think the giftee will
use it).

Very impressed that you've labelled. It could happen here. Or not. The
ringed/bagged stuff that is in bins, well I'm labelling the number range on
the bin, as that helps. Ack. And now I'm going back downstairs to stare at
the mess as I coddle my post-treatment raging 3 day headache. Almost gone -
should be away by tomorrow a.m.

I have a picture of my floss cabinets in my webshots stitchery album
if you need some inspiration!

Since the pictures were taken I've added quite a few skeins of perle
cotton to my door and have decided that I need to put the little
Command Strip hooks vertically so I can fit more on the doors. When
that will happen, I'm not sure!

You're too funny. That is part of my door on-door off debate about the
closet in my office/studio. Finally I decided off is better for access, and
doing some kind of hook capable thing. Thought about putting in a peg
board, now toying with inexpensive cable/curtain bars that can take
hooks/rings. Who knows.

Labels - hahahahahahahahahaha............
