difficult
I thought I was clever coming up with my design and prototype for the house
but sorting out room sizes, furniture sizes, WIRING LOOM and switches, making 27 working windows plus doors, access to the house, what scale to use, finding I have to make everything if I want modern 'cause local shop supplies are mostly Victorian or vintage.........AAHHhhhhh!!!!!!! just as well I allowed 2 years to make it!!!! :-) And I still haven't got a clue where I'll get some "modern style" dolls in 1/12 scale. I make aerobatic planes, racing boats, hydroplanes, micro yachts......... Non of them have driven me half as crazy as planning this "dollhouse". Cheers Glen |

There are a lot of modern minis available but you will have to get them by mail order. There's a group on Yahoo dedicated to modern minis and you might want to check them out. I'm in the business and I work with customers to get the things they want and it's not an easy, nor inexpensive task. I have to order from all over the world and pay shipping and then there's the currency exchange. Your local shop might be willing to work with you. May I suggest a "starter house". Get a cheapy kit, put it together and do some practicing. Your child will have something to play with while you work on your own project. Carol S P Miniatures http://www.spminiatures.com |

Cheers Glen We stock a ton of modern minis (including dolls) available to ship pretty much anywhere in the world - also if you spend over $90 on furniture and accessories you'll get FREE shipping (not including house kits for obvious reasons). Unfortunatley, these modern items are mixed in with our period pieces, but I think you find what you need without too much effort - everything's sub-divided into sections: Furniture - http://www.dollshouse.com/asp/redire...dhecode=lineup Accessories - http://www.dollshouse.com/asp/redire...code=accessory Dolls - http://www.dollshouse.com/asp/redire...?dhecode=dolls Possibly the most useful feature for you will be our roomsets - there are many entire rooms kitted-out with modern items: Roomsets - http://www.dollshouse.com/asp/redire...?dhecode=rooms Anybody reading this after November 1st 2004 will have to go to our homepage and navigate from there - our site is changing slightly on this date. Hope this is of some use to you. Paul http://www.dollshouse.com |
