Opinions on lace doily please
I am preparing to make my first knit lace doily. I have chosen a square
pattern for this endeavor. It is worked back and forth in rows, until the end, when I will have to pick up stitches all around and work circularly for the edging. I am considering adding selvedge stitches to the sides, to make the picked up stitches evenly spaced, but I don't know if the doily will still lay flat with the slipped stitches. On the sweater I'm currently working on, those selvedge stitches turn slightly to the inside. Thoughts? Anyone? |

That's what I'm thinking of doing, I'm just curious if the slipped stitches
are going to cause a ridge between the edging and the main body of the doily. "Noreen's Knit*che" wrote in message news:200389104717.667493@j9o2a1... I always Purl the last stitch, then when I turn to start the new row, I slip the 'now' first stitch as if to knit... this makes a selvedge edge that is very nice and neat, very much like a crocheted slip-stitch edging.
