Default Fabric up for grabs

You may remember I mentioned this in a previous thread.....
A friend of mine who gets left over fabric samples from a
local design company - brought a box and left it on my doorstep today!
You will not believe what is in that box!

Most of which was nautical/sailing related.....

But there is a large piece in the box which I have no idea what on
earth I would do with it and it certainly does not strike my fancy. I
have posted pics of it on my Webshots (as follows) and will be more
than happy to send it to the first person who wants it!

Specs a

Piece is 82 x 48 and has hemmed edges.
label says: 73% cotton 27% Model (what the heck is that?)

By: Schumacher
Name: Graziana
Color: Venetian (red to my eye)
Made in Italy
Suggested Retail Price (tag on it) $196.00 HOLY COW

It feels almost like a velvet or suede. May be curtain material I
guess.

Anywhoooo, first come first served!

Tina, save a hunk or strip of it for the crazy quilt you will want to make
one day. I don't know when that day is, but we want to be prepared.

Polly, I've been sewing scraps out of the "scrap bag" together so the
kids will have some "sheets" of quilty fabric to use to cut out
Christmas ornaments, gift tags, etc.

The more I look at that piece, each time it grows, the more I
think...........

........but I don't want to make a crazy quilt. No, I don't. I really,
really don't. But damn that looks so cool, all those scraps just put
together haphazardly..... but I don't, I really don't......

yeah, uh huh - that would be number 1,347 on the "Quilts To Do One Day
List" - right?

Hugs,
Tina

1,347? Sure. You can do that. My granny's crazy quilt was to be used and
loved and we did that. Some of the velvet pieces had turned loose here and
there, but oh, how wonderful it was to just fondle it and snuggle under it.
What a treasure. Yes. Just find a pretty box and toss the special bits in
it for one day. Polly
