The person I made those for liked them so much they asked for a matching necklace - made a chandlier pendant the same as the earrings and put it on a chain. Unfortunately the outside pearl drops are just coated plastic and the colour on the pendant is starting to go off and no idea if I can find better quality replacements, the earrings are fine they don't end up with as much skin contact. -- Melinda http://cust.idl.com.au/athol |

Hi Melinda......
Both my daughter and I can take the shine off fake gold in days. We both have rather acidic skin. Have you thought of painting the gold parts with clear nailpolish?? Works OK. I remember doing that in high school......so that is one O-L-D remedy!! (G) Heather (Canada) "melinda" wrote in message ... Beadbimbo wrote: Nice work! (G) Heather (Canada) 'Bing' light goes on, it's going to be a little tricky to find a matching nail polish colour, maybe I should look at cleaning those up first then using clear polish. I've already used coloured polish on a pair of my earrings, but if the colour doesn't quite match I can always paint the beads on the earrings as well... Thank you for 'reminding' me :-) -- Melinda http://cust.idl.com.au/athol |

Thank you for 'reminding' me :-) If I am just making up costume jewellery for myself, I usually *paint* the clasp with clear nail polish. It seems to do the job. Of course, I can always restring it should it really look bad, but haven't had to so far. Never thought of using coloured nail polish tho. Odds of it matching would be really small.
