Default OT Update on Grandma

She fell on the weekend and broke her hip she finally got in
to surgery at 10pm Monday night, trauma cases have priority.
Mum and Dad saw her yesterday and apparently she's as well as
can be expected. The pain meds the doctors have her on are
probably what's affecting her short term memory, her hearing is
a bit worse than before - probably stress, and she seems more
worried about the mass near her pancreas than about her broken
hip. At some stage she'll be transfered to a different hospital
to get assessed as to whether she can stay at home with or
without assistance or whether she has to go into some level of
assisted accomodation.

Sending prayers and good thoughts her way, both for her and her medical
team! Health issues seem to get so complicated as we get older.

Dear Melinda, hugs and prayers for your family and grandma. We went
through this last year with MIL, falling and breaking her hip. She
ended up having to have a total hip replacement. The trauma caused her
something called dissociative amnesia. It passed after several days,
but it really frustrated and scared her and made her less sure of
herself. That seems to be one of the worst things about these types of
incidences as we get older. She has always lived alone and been very
independent. Now she is unsure and scared at times and that really
frustrates her. Hope your grandma has a full and quick recovery.

Prayers on the way!

My granny managed to fall out of bed and break her wrist IN HOSPITAL!
Now that made us cross!
