Has anyone made this quilt from Simply Quilts? I'm thinking of making it in
neutrals, but not sure if the design will stand out enough? Any comments?
TIA

I bought the book to do it... one of these days... doesn't look all that
difficult technically -- but it definitely looks like one of those that
fabric choice and placement will make it or break it! Go for it! What
colors are you thinking of using?

Is that the block that looks like someone rotated the center portion of
a LC while keeping the edges taunt so that the outer logs are not
necessarily uniform in width?

They are actually pieced as a triangle - log cabin style... but kind-of on
the slant

You can see it he

Gorgeous and not at all what I was thinking of. Thanks for the picture
link.

This could bejoining my eventually pile of plans. Think it could be
paper pieced? (that may actuallymake it happen sooner for me)

Okay, smack me! I just looked over the directions a bit more clearly
and saw that it IS PP'd.

Thinking maybe I'll give up the computer for a bit and go read about
Stephanie Plum and her antics for a bit,

I'm actually working on the square pattern from that book (Log Cabin with a
Twist) right now.

I only have 8 blocks completed and don't have photos up, because I didn't
think it was interesting enough yet... but I can take a pic and post it if
you want to see?

OHHHH which one are you reading Tricia? I think I'm up to Eleven. They are
lightweight books, but always keep me interested until the end!

I love neutrals!

I think a LC Twist quilt would look gorgeous in subtle shades of
cream/beige/coffe, but might prefer one of the other quilts in the book to
get a more dimensional/undulating feel to the whole quilt. I think the
flower/spinning star shapes do rely more on contrast.

Can't wait to see the results of anything you make!!

The only problem I see is not being able to make a map like the instructions
suggest....quite a challenge, but will post the results.
