Janome 6500
I have on and a Bernina 170 quilting edition. I love both of them. I bought
the Janome last year at this time b/c I came across a special price (less than $1,000) with the plexi table also included. It is a great machine! I felt I needed a spare, just in case the Bernina had to go into the shop for maintenance, etc. I haven't had any problems with either of them and use them both the same amount! Both a great machines. |

I bought mine a couple of months ago, and so far I like it. I still
haven't used half of the features. I really like the knee lift and the automatic threader. It runs very smoothly. I hope to be able to put it to the test during the long cold months of January and February, when I don't go out much. I've only made a couple of cat blankets, a wall hanging and a small crib blanket so far, but my next scheduled quilt will be a twin size so it should get its first real use soon. My only complaint is the manual. It shows how to run the machine, but doesn't give any quilting tips and I think I really need more information on how to fully understand its capabilities. Interesting you should say that, Denise.
I have felt, since I read through mine, that it is a good job I have sewn for some time. An additional book on *sewing* with the machine, would be great. I might mention this to the Yahoo group, as the moderator there seems to have the ear of some rather high up Janome 'people'. I feel they could do it fairly easily. On the other hand, the actual instructions with the little numbered diagrams are *extremely* good, in the manual. .. In article , Denise G. writes snipped My only complaint is the manual. It shows how to run the machine, but doesn't give any quilting tips and I think I really need more information on how to fully understand its capabilities.
