Does anyone know where I can get patterns to make cloth clothespin bags? Have tried ebay thanks dar Hi, I just made myself one, but I made the pattern myself. I used a coat hanger from a childs outfit. I put it on a piece of paper and drew around it. I took a line vertically down on either side about 10" then across. So as to make a rectangle with a shaped top. This was the sewing line. I then cut two pieces of material and sewed around it, leaving a gap at the top for the hanger hook to go through. I cut a hole in one of the pieces of fabric approx 6" wide by 5" , placing the hole towards the top of the material. I then turned the bag though the hole I had cut and put the hanger inside. I then hand sewed bias binding around the edge of the hole. I hope this makes sense, its probably taken me as long to write as it did to make! Sarah |

There's a recipe for a clothespin bag on my web site at http://home.earthlink.net/~beeson_n3f/ROUGHSEW/ -- search the list of text files for "bags", click on "bags" and search for "clothespin". The recipe calls for upholstery fabric; I suggest coarse net instead, as lint and dirt will fall on through, and you can see stray objects that have gotten in with the pins.
