OK we were discussing this somewhere in another thread, I don't remember
which one... but I kind of went crazy the other day bidding on Vicalla's
things... got about $70 worth, hopefully nice things BUT the shipping is
$60!!! Yep you read that right. I wrote them several times and they won't
bend on that. Bet it will cost $10 or less to ship the lot. So the prices
seem low, but they screw you on shipping. THEY DO NOT COMBINE TO SAVE ON
SHIPPING AND CHARGE A FLAT RATE NO MATTER HOW TINY THE ITEM IS. Don't know
if the quality is any good after hearing comments on here. But I'm kind of
stuck at this point. Will keep you posted.

Hi Karlene.....

Check out Beadaholique.....I did quite well with them. Also did well
tonight buying Swarovskis here in Toronto. I think it was you who told
me BeadFX was good here in Toronto and I can confirm that they are
excellent!! I got a lot of my copper stuff there.

But remember I said I didn't trust the Amber Lady.....she proved me
right by sending me the crappiest pair of mismatched amber earrings and
I have written her and complained. One other pair was quite nice, but
the 3 pendants were horribly small!! I shall use them as charms, grin.

I think this was the first one I have been *taken* on.......guess it
happens to all of us. Her handle is "AmberSilver". And she gives
people nasty feedback just for telling the truth about her stuff, lol.
I shall be properly nice, yet non-complimentary. "well-packaged"
(crapola). Heh heh.

Must be the full moon eclipse from last night....I am getting slightly
wingy.

Night all....Heather

Karleen -- Their auctions clearly state 4.95 for shipping on the first
item and 1.99 on each item thereafter. I consider the items I won
from them for .99 as costing $3. It is how they keep the opening
price low and avoid ebay fees, like everyone else. I see most sellers
doing this (including the one I bought my bedspread from).

I know that now... for some reason I thought they'd be reasonable and
combine... their emails DID say they'd combine wins from their 3
companies... What is the point of combining if it saves you nothing? I
wouldn't have bid on so many things if I'd realized... I just hope their
stuff is worth all this trouble.

You know, I have had some success in the past with combining
shipping. I raise all kinds of hell, and usually it works. It didn't
work for me with them, either.

There is a LOT of overcharging in shipping going on that is much
subtler, like this. Handling charges, bull****. LOL. I have never
liked a handling charge.

I don't know how to get this through to ebay, but it completely gets
around their payment policies. We end up paying $3 a piece (2.99) for
a .99 auction. The seller only pays fees on the .99. We pay out the
butt for the rest.

$60 in shipping is criminal. Let's talk to ebay about this.

I'm getting teed off about the $29 for the comforter i bought from
King Linen, also. Their shipping on their website is only 19.99. How
can shipping, alone, be higher on ebay? Obviously, it is not. They
are upping the shipping to pay for their ebay fees. I hate that.

And in both instances, what they are doing is definitely against eBay
policy. Unless someone complains, though, eBay has no clue it's
happening. I would definitely complain to eBay about both companies'
shipping charges.

But I have to say - good luck with all that because eBay doesn't
really give a rat's butt about anyone anymore...
