Double Irish Chain question
On Jul 9, 9:02 am, Pat in Virginia wrote:
John: Over the years I HAVE noticed 'parts' available for making quilt frames. IIRC, these were mainly the gears and were sometimes wooden, sometimes metal. (I noticed because I thought I'd ask DH to make a frame.) These advertisements have been in back pages of quilting magazines. Maybe we here in RCTQ Land can keep an eye out for a recent ad, and post the info for you. HTH. PAT in VA/USA That would be great. I don't subscribe to any quilting mags (for shame), but I do occasionally take a look at them when I cruise through Barns & Ignoble and their magazine section. I will keep an eye out for the parts adds and if anybody has a link to same I would appreciate it.Thanks,, John |

(in article . com): If you were making one of these would you put a border on it or not. I have enough fabric for a couple borders but that's not what interest me. I'm interested in the look. Borders yes no. Kate T. South Mississippi I put borders on mine. Actually, I used the borders from the Eleanor Burns book with Nine Patch blocks in the corners. Maureen |

A thin blue (to match the chain) and then a white border (the other color in the chain) twice as thick as the blue. I thought it turned out ok! I don't always use borders - but most times, they serve to really frame the quilt. And they just make it seem more ... finished and planned, in my mind. But that's MHO. -- Happy quilting & quilty hugs!! Connie I've started a FREE eZine ... and I've posted *LOTS* of free applique patterns! Check it out! http://sewverycreative.blogspot.com/ ----- It's BACK!! AND they APOLOGIZED! LOL! |
