Default Newbie to Polymer Clays (Hi all)

Hi all this is my first post to this group hope I find everyone in good cheer

don't let the Spammers kill yet another group just ignore there junk.

I'm pretty new to using Polymer clays but have been using other clays for some time
after using polymers i'm never looking back to the old stuff.

i have a few questions to put to the group
1 ) has anyone got a good list of sites that will help me learn more about this medium
2 ) does the group alow for Binaries such a Jpegs to be uploaded so i can show off
some of my pieces

I keep hearing about something called "Sculpey" is this stuff any good compaired to
such as FIMO ?
what are the major differences.

Has anyone got any stuff that they want to show off I love looking at new original stuff

hope I havn't found this group at the moment of it's death because it would be a crying
shame to let the Spammers win

I'll just answer #1 - go to Polymer Clay Central at
http://polymerclaycentral.com

We have a huge website with lessons, tutorials projects, articles,
reviews, swaps, and tons of photos, and our Message board is pretty
active with members from all levels from working professionals to
beginners.

The Message board can be reached at
http://forums.delphiforums.com/polymerclay/start

I'd recommend using a free online photoalbum service. Yahoo has one.

Sculpey III comes in many colors and is a very soft clay that's not
very durable when baked. I wouldn't use it on its own for anything I
wanted to last. It's okay to practice with if you don't like FIMO's
firmness. Premo is made by the same company and I prefer it. It's
softer than FIMO, but stiffer than Sculpey. Some colors are softer
than others and may need to be leeched a bit, but overall I like the
consistency. If it gets too soft from overworking it I let it cool
for a bit. It's much sturdier than Sculpey III when baked.

Hmm, I don't see a lot of spam on this group relative to others I
participate in, there just hasn't been a lot of general posting, which
is why I figured I'd delurk and help out.

Hello and welcome to the group. One of the best sites you can go to is
www.glassattic.com to answer just about any question you may have.

Probably because the porno-spammers would be in here in a New York
minute posting lewd pictures.

The standard operating procedure is to find some webspace (there are
plenty of free places available) and create a website, or post your
pictures to one of those photo album sites.

The Polymer Clay Central message board has special folders for polymer
clay photos -- check it out. (You sign up to access through Delphi,
just like you sign up to post here...)

Sherry Bailey

(Another reason for not allowing binaries in a newsgroup is the
bandwidth they take up -- people who read newsgroups may not have fast
internet connections, and pictures can overload their accounts.)
