Default New Soft Furnsihings Website

Hi,

I have just set up a new website for a friend, and would welcome your
comments on the layout of the site and whether you think it could be
improved.

If anyone has any sites which might be of interest to our customers,
then please get in touch as we would be willing to add some extra
links.

The website is at:
http://www.vicarage-lane.co.uk

Thanks for looking

Right, well, you aren't a regular (or even sporadic) contributor to this
forum, so your spam is unwelcome

Additionally:

the design is passe and pedestrian (to say the very least)

the pages are *far* too slow to load ...

need I go on?

Seems a bit harsh - I do not see how it is spam asking people on this
group who might be interested in the website for comments. However, I
have now found the rec.crafts.textiles.marketplace, which is probably
where I should have put the link in the first place.

I don't generally spam and have been posting for quite some time on
other user groups which are more along the lines of my interests. As I
said in the original post, I have set up this website for a friend who
will no doubt join and post on these groups themself (as they are of no
interest to me personally).

I am surprised by your comments that the design is slow to load - I am
only on dialup (though I do use a good accelerator) and the main pages
are quick enough to load here - maybe because it is a UK server and you
are US based (?)- flashy websites are even slower to load - any
pointers to some good textiles websites for me to look at??

Thanks for the comments anyway

No, I am on a fast broadband link here in the UK. They probably load
fast for you because you are loading from cache. Clear your cache and do
a refresh and then see what happens.

"Flashy" isn't the point - old hat is. You asked, old son. Tell you
what, it's wonderful, best thing since sliced bread. Better?

Oh, and as for the "spam" accusation - posts like yours are the norm
from clever s0ds wanting a bit of free advertising.
