Yes I did, I really did... it was white tops, so I portioned them out into
strips, and I dyed each strip a different colour, shades of blues and pinks,
When I had the strips I put them onto a comb and combed them through a diz,
(make shift button with a hole I enlarged) Then wound up into several little
balls, and spun. The result is quite pleasing to the eye as you can see.

It is very soft, because it is Tops, but as I was saying to Noreen in a
private message, wool done similar to this is a little harder to the touch,
but just as pretty. Using wool, I put on strips of colour combinations
onto the drum carder, card each colour on seperately so that I have three
stripes then remove, and then I elongate them and spin worsted. Sometimes
I use say Red blue and yellow, then I'll do another batt, using the same
three colour families, but different shades, so the next batt maybe it would
be maroon, turquiose blue, and a sandy yellow.. and then another final
batt, same colour family but maybe Hot Pink, Mauvey Blue, and Lemon, when
all three batts are done, I put one ontop of the other, roll them up, from
side to side, and pull to elongate and keep on going til I've drafted it
enough to spin. That is interesting cos you get all sorts of colours
through..

Cheers..........Cher
