Default Anyone from OLALLA or GIG HARBOR WASHINGTON?

Well after over a year of fooling around, with my stuff in storage, I'm finally
moving to the beautiful state of Washington. I had sent a similar message over
a year ago, but since then I got sidetracked by a variety of things, such as
in-laws, but I'm now actually on the road (sending this from my motel room).

So, hello fellow potters in my new area! I would love to hear from you,
whether to visit you galleries, studios and classes, or just to get an email
"hi." My home is in Olalla, which is about half-way between Gig Harbor and
Port Orchard, Washington. I have a sturdy outbuilding that I plan to re-fit
into a studio, but that will probably take at least a month or so. My wheel,
electic kiln and most of my supplies are there waiting for me; all I need is
some time and elbow grease. In the meantime I'd love to meet some of my
compadre potters in the area and hear about any events coming up.

Thanks a bunch.

Eric, check out the folks at Clay Art in Puyallup. Great People and a great
source of supplies. I have used them often when I was stationed at Ft. Lewis
and still order supplies from them now that I am in Florida.

I lurk here occasionally and saw your post. I live about 30 miles east of
Seattle in North Bend. I am very new to pottery -- took classes in high
school but then did no pottery for about 20 years. I took a workshop this
past summer in Mexico with Juan Quezada and have been pretty obsessed since
then spending most of my spare time setting up and making pots. I have
gotten some supplies from Seattle Pottery Supply who seems like a pretty
great place where you can find just about anything you might need -- though
Gig Harbor is quite a ways away. I have been making pots with local clay
that I found and processed myself and I fire with dried bark in my back yard
-- what a kick!! I'm really just beginning to have what I would consider
success. Anyhow -- welcome to the great northwest!

Thank you Gary. It's good to be here finally. Now it's time to get to work
and fix up my studio before I can start making stuff. By the way, welcome to
the world of pottery. Remember: Clay is the Way.
