Default Kreinik Silk question

Okay.. this could be about dumb.. but I'm looking at the supplies list for an M
Designs chart (it's the Thistle) and it calls for something called Kreinik Silk
Mori Yarn and Kreinik Silk Serica Yarn, plus Kreinik Metallic Yarn. Now.. I'm
sure I'm wrong here, but to ME.. yarn is that stuff that my Mother crochets
with or that Caryn knits with.. NOT something I'm going to use on 28 count
linen for cross stitch. What the ????

I think it's partly a typo, and partly a difference in word usage.

28 ct is fairly loose weave, with fairly large holes. you can use
fine yarns on it with no problems.

Silk Mori and Silk Serica are both heavier threads, and there is yarn
lighter than either one of them. I don't think that they are called
yarns by Kreinik, but a non-stitcher would be very likely to call them
yarns.

I would bet that the 'metallic yarn' is a typo by a non-stitcher.

Just get the threads and use them. They'll work fine on 28 ct. Don't
worry about the terminology.
