Jewelry & Metals - Beginners Only
Basic metal techniques including sawing, forming, soldering,
fabrication, cold connections, polishing, filing and use of the
flexible shaft are introduced through demonstrations and individual

Forming
Construct and shape hollow, three-dimensional forms. The techniques
covered may be used to create decorative items including vases, cups,
bowls, and candlesticks, as well as sculptural forms for jewelry.

Bangles and Cuffs - All Levels
Create bangle and cuff bracelets using forging and forming techniques.
Learn how to manipulate wire and flat stock to fashion bracelets with
simple, bold form. You may also create wide bracelets from sheet
incorporating techniques of surface design and decoration.

Introduction to Gold Fabrication
Learn how to work with gold to create fine jewelry. This class will
cover basic fabrication, soldering, polishing, and some stone setting.
No previous experience of working with gold is necessary although a
strong intermediate level of soldering and jewelry making experience
is required. Materials fee: $30.

Introduction to Gold Fabrication 2
Learn more techniques of working with gold and receive individual
guidance to develop your skills in making and designing fine jewelry.

The Art of Enameling - All Levels
Learn a variety of enameling techniques with an emphasis on design,
color and composition. Work on individual projects, including jewelry,
wall pieces and small objects in copper and silver. Instruction
includes both traditional and innovative approaches.

Enameling on Metal - All Levels
Explore cloisonné, traditional and experimental techniques using

Introduction to Wax Carving
Learn the basics of wax model carving for jewelry and other
small-scale objects. Sawing, filing, flexible shaft techniques and the
finishing of wax will be covered in detail. Students may then have
models cast at a casting house and returned for sanding and polishing.

Wax Carving - All Levels
Learn the process of wax model carving for jewelry and other
small-scale objects. Create designs in wax by sawing, filing, using

experience helpful but not required.

Jewelry Rendering
Learn the basics of technical drawing for jewelry design. Techniques
covered will include dimensional sketching, shadowing, and rendering
of different metal and stone textures from opaque to semi-transparent,
and colored. All levels of experience welcome. Bring paper and a
pencil to first class. Materials list will be discussed first class.

Chain Making - All Levels
Learn how to make jump rings, the first step in making a chain. A
large range of possibilities will be covered by varying the
combination, arrangement and size of the links. This class will cover
