knitting needles sizes
Am looking at some websites with knitting patterns for dolls. The needle
sizes say No.3 e.g. To me (in Australia) No.3 needle is a thick one. As I am assuming the sites are American, could it be that the two countries use opposite sizings. Thanks for any help. Katherine |

I have a converter on my web site for finding the equivalent size (U.S. imperial and metric): http://www.vintagepurls.net.nz/tools.html Vintage Purls |

Does the pattern specify a gauge? You could figure out what size
needles to use if you knew the yarn size and the expected gauge. Hesira jones wrote: Am looking at some websites with knitting patterns for dolls. You might want to have a look at a needle conversion chart. There is one at www.yarnforward.com I am thinking that size 3 (if it is not metric) is about size 10 or 11 for us. Higs, Katherine |
