I'll take care of it. Additionally, if you have friends who you think would enjoy Tidbits, please make them aware of us...and help me increase my circulation. URL (http://www.tyler-adam.com) ====================================== It's an Ibis ... it's a Stork ... it's a Boid. Well ... it has a beak and I think it has wings and in my book that pretty much makes it a bird of some sort. If it's an Ibis--according to Egyptian myth--it symbolizes the winged dawn ... the flight of the soul ... the destroyer of reptiles ... the sun which rides The Boat of a Million Years across the heavens. Then again the Ibis is a water bird which makes it Lunar as well as Solar. By golly ... it's a hermaphrodite .... Lunar and Solar phase speaking. But ... but but but ... what if it's a Stork ... symbol of good omen and fertility. Let's not forget it brought babies into the world long before doctors dreamt up cesareans. On an aside--how did the medical profession come up with cesarean as a name for pulling a baby out of the abdomen like that? Was Caesar really a doctor ... and we've been reading all the wrong history books? A ride on a stork's back as a boy enters this world denotes the fact that he's a good little boy. A ride in his bill ... the kid's naughty. Now I ask you ... is there a one amongst you who has ever seen an image of a stork bringing a babe into the world astride its back? Does this mean all babies are born to be naughty. Hmmm? Then there's the belief that storks can become people and people can become storks ... so when you view the brooch you'll soon be viewing ... decide for yourselves if it's a stork ... or the neighbor next door. But what if it's a Phoenix? I say this with great safety because I venture to think nary a soul out there knows what a Phoenix looks like. Here's the thing with the Phoenix. It builds its nest of myrrh and then dies. Its decaying flesh produces a worm and this worm sprouts feathers and then carries its parent bones to the temple of Ra and a new Phoenix is created to return and start the whole thing over again. No need for sex to reproduce here folks. A clever flying worm does the whole thing. So where does all this ambiguity leave us? It leaves us with Peter Chang who--in 1992--created a gorgeous brooch made with various plastic elements and lacquer and polished to a high sheen. A psychedelic masterpiece showing once again that it ain't all gold and gems that make for beauty. For those of you who are new to this thing called Tidbits...may I direct you to my home page at www.tyler-adam.com where you will scroll down the left side menu till you get to the area that says Tidbits Graphics ... and then click on the link that says: Boid ... where you'll see an image of Peter Chang's delightful brooch. _________________________________________________ SIGN UP FOR OUR FREE E-MAIL NEWSLETTER: TIDBITS Available From Our Home Page At: http://www.tyler-adam.com Any Day-Gifts Galore-Visit Tyler-Adam Corp. _________________________________________________ --Browse the vast resources of TAC-Bourse-- --Our Diamond Search Engine-- _________________________________________________ TYLER-ADAM CORP.--Jewelry Manufacturers Tel: 1-800-20-TYLER E-Mail to: |
