OT Squash blossoms for frying
I posted this on rec.gardens a few days ago, but didn't get any response, so
I'm hoping one of you knowledgeable people know the answer :-) I want to try frying squash blossoms - how big do I let the male blossoms get before picking them for frying? Do you wait until they open? Seems like they'd be easier to dip in batter & fry while still closed. -- Jacqueline Carmichaels PA |

Pick before they open. But I can't tell you how to distinguish male and female blossoms. Frances Take Jacques out before replying. |

Thanks. Actually, distinguishing the male from female is the easy part
because the females already have small squash forming very early, at about the same time the flower bud is developing. -- Jacqueline Carmichaels PA "Ruth409028" wrote in message ...
