Oh, not to mention, PUTTING PICTURES OF HIS KID ON THE INTERNET to help
him beg for money. That spells out L.O.S.E.R. He makes my gorge rise.

What's slimy about it is that you can't see his finances. Programs that
help people in financial need (I've been on them, but not since my loser
ex left me alone to fend for myself... without him draining my finances
I made ends meet on my own) look at their financial situation and can
determine the difference between "this person needs help making ends
meet" and "this person needs help paying off their wide-screen TV". In
the case of internet beggars, I suspect it's usually the latter.

I help where I can but I have very little "extra" money. I haven't had a
full-time job in 15 months and I'm not sure when I will again. My husband
had a heart attack last year and we still owe the hospital. They've been
getting rather demanding lately. We're refinancing the house tomorrow so
that we will have a little extra money to pay bills.

I wish I could give more but I'll be damned if I'm going to chip in to
someone who resorts to begging on a website. There's something slimy about
that. My opinion only.

Besides, DD is an extremely powerful motivator. The child forgets nothing,
and that forces me to try and be as good an example to her as I can be.

OMG, my dd too!!! I tell folks that God sent her to me because he knew I'd be
inclined to sluff off and be lazy, and THIS kid won't stand for that crap!!!!

What makes you think we don't help?

Yeah. Pastor John, you're pretty self-righteous and condescending.

I didn't just show up to tsk-tsk you and disappear. I read this group a lot
I, too, am addicted to the bright shiny baubles with holes in them. I was
just surprised at the venom and vitriol that came out about this man. I've
noticed that people are willing to give money to "programs" that help the
"less fortunate" but when the "less fortunate" confront us personally we
are less willing and in some cases spiteful about helping them. This in
some cases surprises me, because we as a nation call ourselves Christian
but we are unwilling to follow the example of Christ himself. I'm not here
to preach, proselytize, or condemn anyone. I simply pointed out that if
more people that could help would, there would be a lot less people with a
need to beg. I'm going back to lurking now. If anyone wants to continue
the discussion offlist I will be more than happy to answer any and all
emails sent to or to . Oh!, I
would appreciate it if you wouldn't hold my views against me if I show up
at your websites to buy the occasional bright shiny bauble that insists on
being added to one of my creations.

Blessings on you all

Pastor John

I think it needs to be pointed out that this man did not confront us
personally. That makes all the difference in the world to me and
surely to others. No need to take this further or to email on my
account and no need to defend yourself and your motives.

Now, can we see some of your designs made with shiny baubles?

It's old stuff. I haven't had time to put the new stuff up yet, maybe this
week.
