your favorite quilt instructors
My guild is looking for quilt instructors for the next year or two. We're
in the mid west. It might help us decide if we knew which ones were favorites. I don't really want anyone to knock any instructors though. We're also not looking for the really high priced instructors. Someone more local but not widely known would work out really well. Local being from South Dakota south to Texas. Thanks for any and all help! Kathy in Ks. |

I have enjoyed the classes I have had with Susan Cleveland (southeastern
Minnesota). I have no idea of her prices for guild presentations and workshops. Her website is http://www.piecesbewithyou.com/ Julia in MN -- This message has been scanned for viruses by Norton Anti-Virus http://webpages.charter.net/jaccola/ |

I have not taken any classes from Janet Jones Worley
http://hometown.aol.com/jjworley/index.html , but I attended one of her lectures in Houston. I laughed until I cried - she was fabulous! I always look to see if she is teaching when I check out quilt shows. So far, no luck, but maybe she'll be in Houston in 2006, cuz I know I will be!! -- Wendy http://griffinsflight.com/Quilting/quilt1.htm un-STUFF email address to reply "kr_gentner" wrote in message news:FEuIe.4652$mu6.4384@okepread04... I can highly recommend Lyn Mann. She is a member of my guild, funny,
creative... She does some great mystery quilts. We did one last year and I had a ball doing it. I can see why, she has some really great classes. I don't know how cost
effective it would be to bring her all the way to southwest Kansas though. But I'll add her to the list anyway, you never know!! Thanks! Kathy in Ks. Lyn does some great classes. Always something to learn and beginners
up enjoy her quilts. Paula Reid of Batts in the Attic is great fun for machine quilting, trupanto and that sort of thing. SHe is a hoot and everyone looks forward to coming to her classes. I hired Jan Krenz for my guild just before she really went 'big'. I missed the class for family emergency but was told by folks that take a lot of big name classes that she was the best teacher they ever had taken a quilt class with. SHe is pretty popular and pricey these days. Here in So. Calif. there is a group that has representatives from most of the local guilds. Once a year they have a 'meet the teacher' program. It is a great oppurtunity to meet teachers and learn about the programs they present. Maybe there is something like that in your area? Mention around to the members to see if they know of anyone. Quilters talk it up a lot and the good teachers will be remembered. Also, if you work your schedule right you can find a teacher might be in your area already do a class and that helps with travel costs. HTH, Taria Debbi wrote: I can highly recommend Lyn Mann. I went to one of her lectures too - what a hoot she was. I remember seeing
her on Simply Quilts when her Chocolate book first came out. -- BarbQuilts take out the Cat to reply "frood" wrote in message . com...
