Default Granitex texture

Been busy creating critters for Noreascon. In the process I came up with a
little tip to sha

Don't like shiny Granitex gargoyles? Want them to feel more like stone? In
other words, sandy not smooth? Turns out the answer is clear acrylic gesso.

Clear gesso is NOT the same as matte medium, by the way. It dries with a
fine, sandy tooth that feels a lot like un-polished stone. That toothy
surface is also great to draw on (I bought it for doing silver point) and
forms a barrier that should help protect against colored pencil
embellishments migrating into the clay.

Thank you for that timely tip Helen. I get the urge to make gargoyles
occasionally but have resisted for just that reason. Its good to know there
is an easy solution!
