Default New - Hi to all

I finally found this board. My friends have told me about it, and I
always ended up in the wrong place!!

My name is Jim, I am female and my name was misprinted on my birth
certificate as Jim instead of Gem - for some reason my mother left it
alone. I an retired and live in Florida and Ohio.

I have been lampworking for over ten years - it is one of my most
cherished things to do.

I read many other glass forums and a few non-glass too
(http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/index.php?)-great recipes for long
hair fanatics like me. I've only cut my hair twice in my life. My mom
hates it and tells me I look like an old, worn out hippie BG I hardly
ever post to any forum, I'm shy, what can I say. At 55, I doubt I will
change.

Nice to meet everyone! Hope I didn't post this in the wrong place!
Back to my corner.

Welcome from one long hair to another. Yes, I've had all the comments,
but even though I think about cutting my hair each spring, I can't
quite face up to it!
I'm fairly new to beading, and am basically a stringer. But I
especially enjoy this group and all the vicarious pleasure from the
beautiful beads and jewelry shared.
So here's a promise, I'll look at your lampwork if you would please
share!

Hi Jim! It's really nice to meet you... I'm secretly a hippie too. I
look forward to getting to know you, and hope to see pictures of your
beads someday too!

Hiya Jim and welcome! Though I've cut my hair many times----DONT have
permanents and hair dye in the same decade!!!---I let it grow free now, and
isnt there something satisfying about having hair your mom doesnt love?
("you're at an age, dear..when shorter hair will make you look YOUNGER!!") .
when in fact, shorter hair makes me look like every other oldlady Q tip out
there. I LIKE being an old hippie!! it goes with my BEADS!!!
