Lord knows how many times I had to try to describe this fabric over the
course of my previous job. I had to work phones for Bloomingdale's by Mail, and the company carried a lot of this material. IIRC, tencel is a natural fiber material actually generated from wood pulp (!) that is processed in such a way to have the benefits of synthetics. Nice feel in hand, breathable, but minimal on care such as ironing. HTH... -- ~Connie~ "BDS2pds" wrote in message ... Anyone in here know about this new fabric? Wonder if it is breathable. |

And she's into "natural"-type clothing and foods. Even on her extremely limited budget, she says Tencel is worth the extra cost, if she can find it on sale. sue |

It's basically a variation on the theme of rayon; it's a cellulose derivative made from wood pulp using a system that allows solvent recovery. Trade name is Tencel, generic name is lyocell. And yes, it's as breathable as rayon. http://www.tencel.com/ |
