Possible supply source
I get a wooden ship model kit catalog from a company called Model Expo
(www.modelexpo.com). They have a large variety of scale wood dowels, woods strips, wood sheets, various metal tubing and rods, etc. They have a decorative metal fittings that would work for picture frames, mirrors, etc. They might be a good source for scale objects when your building. As I was typing, I thought about some of their copper tubing for exposed plumbing. They also have a large assortment of miniature tools. I used some left-over wood strips to do the foyer in the house I built for my little one. Looked pretty good. I don't think you can have to many sources available when your looking for scale items.
