Default Mini-retreat at my house

My best quilting buddy and her husband spent the weekend with us and
the guys played golf both days, so we had to amuse ourselves. We went
to the LQS and Hobby Lobby on Saturday (and I ended up with about 22
yards of new fabric....I don't get to either store more than twice a
year...) and so Sunday decided to see what we could get done in one
day.

I had a bunch of leftover fabric from baby quilts, so we decided to
make two baby quilts, one for Tiny Stitches in Atlanta and one for
Project Linus.

Here's the result:

Now that I have two machines, we traded back and forth all day, so we
both ended up doing some piecing, some quilting, some binding, some
ironing.

It was great fun, and we finished in time for the guys to take us out
for some fantastic Italian food!

I had never done anything like that before, and I loved it.

What fun! How wonderful. I'm so glad you were able to give us a close-up of
the first quilt. When I saw it, I wondered 'what IS that stuff?' Really
made me smile to see that it was sock monkeys. Precious quilts and weekend.
Happy for you. Polly

A few of my favorite quilting activities a
cruising the LQS with a friend,
playing in the sewing room with a quilting buddy,
and most of all, to make quilts for people in need!
Lucky you, to do all that in one weekend.
You and your pal did real well. My fav is the monkey quilt.

Wow! What a great weekend, Tina! It sounds like so much fun. And the
