Default I did it again... and keep your fingers crossed.

Saturday morning -- sat down on the foot of the bed to pull on my socks (I
was at a hotel) -- and the dang comforter started so slide -- as did I. My
back "snapped" -- a feeling I recognize... and now I can barely move.

I was foolish and went ahead and went to the Final Four game (hey -- it was
only pain... and this was Michigan State in the Final Four!!) We were
sitting on folding chairs... and had to arrive about 2 hours before tip off.
I actually survived the night pretty well. Although I didn't jump up and
down to cheer the Spartans on.

I've decided that Ryan will use my ticket for tonight's game. I have quilt
guild tonight... and had already decided not to go to the game (I'm chair of
a couple of committees... oh well).

But I had hoped to get a couple of hours of sewing in today -- and that
doesn't look like that is going to happen.

I'm also supposed to drive to Columbus, OH tomorrow or Wednesday to pick up
my new QI (aka Jasmine/Jazzy) -- a 2 month old lab puppy -- almost white!)

So no game (I'm okay with that) -- not sure I'll be able to make it to
guild... no sewing and not sure if I should attempt a 3 1/2 hour drive (one
way).

So keep your fingers crossed my back eases up pretty quickly... I hate when
this happens! GRRRR

Oh --- and if you root for the Michigan State Spartans tonight (over UNC) --
I'd welcome that support, too! The fans are planning a white out (team
colors are Green / White) -- wearing white tonight and even Mother Nature is
supporting the Spartans today!

Watch for Ryan -- our seats are in Row 12 behind the team bench (actually
about 6 rows up behind Magic Johnson -- who is an MSU alum). I almost got
my picture taken with him...

Oh, Kate! Please do take it very easy. I hate those slithery comforters!

Most hotels have replaced the slippery polyester comforters with cotton
duvets or triple sheeting with bed scarf. I know from experience Best
Western and Hilton family were mandated to change.

Does your guild appreciate that fact that you would attend guild
instead of going to the championship game????? Even if you had to go
in traction?

I'm not sure I'd attend any wedding other than my own (and if it were
my own, I would be alone because my husband would be at the game....)
if I had tickets to the championship!

You trooper you! Here's hoping for a Sparty Party!

Kate, you might ought to be thinking of a Plan B. A 3½ hour drive with a
jerked back doesn't sound like a good idea. We know you're just itching to
get that beautiful baby lab in your possession but you could ease off a few
days, couldn't you? Well. Maybe not but do take care of yourself. Polly
