Small happy dance :) and up-coming trip
Thursday, our local quilt circle got together to make quilted jackets.
We'd done some last year, but these were different. I used some pretty oriental-style fabrics to cover the sweatshirt that was the base of this jacket, and I think it turned out fairly well -- though a bit busier than I'd probably have ordinarily chosen. g Still, I've posted a photo of it on my site. Just click on the More Miscellaneous link and scroll right to the *bottom* of the page -- past the blue jacket and a few other things until you get to the black/beige-y one. One thing I learned while making this jacket was the value of double-checking as you go along. I machine quilted everything (using my walking foot for these straight lines) in a chevron pattern. But when I went to put the sleeves back into the jacket, I discovered that I'd done one of them completely sideways! Ack! So I practiced my frog stitching and redid the quilting -- can't have one sleeve quilted up and down and the other done sideways, after all! g I should have checked.... As for the trip, I'll only be gone for a few days, beginning in the morning. I'm going to spend Thursday-Saturday holed up in a hotel with two non-quilting friends from our old home town. I haven't seen them in two years, so this will be fun, even though I won't be doing any quilting or get a chance for S.E.X. At any rate, my DH will be home, as will my ferocious QIs (Tuppence and Dexter). So any thoughts of a stash raid on my measly supplies would be fruitless. g Save your gas for a more worthwhile effort! -- Sandy in Henderson, near Las Vegas my ISP is earthlink.net http://home.earthlink.net/~s-foster |
