Featherweight
Hi - I have a question for featherweight owners. I met a lady who does longarm
sewing now and uses her Pfaff for everything else - no longer uses a featherweight she purchased on ebay. She wants to sell it only for what she paid $200. I have not seen it yet - but she said she has replaced the electrical cord and belt - and the container is not in great shape. She has 3 books that came with it but no attachments. When I see her next week what do you suggest I look for or check out? Is it easy to get attachments and parts for featherweights? Thanks - Mary in San Antonio |

books that came with it? is this an old featherweight or a new one?
unless she is including the little green book... I don't know what the others might be though! QuiltiM wrote: Hi - I have a question for featherweight owners. Thanks - Mary in San Antonio Yes, attachments and even used cases are often found on eBay. $200 is about right for a machine with some decal wear and a rough case. Stay away from it if the japan finish missing; likewise if there large areas of missing paint. Decal wear and some scratching is expected for $200, but don't buy it for that amount if the finish has major issues. For $100 more (inc. shipping) you can get a machine with a good finish, decent decals and an acceptable case on eBay. Bring some material with you and sew on it when you go to check it out.It should make consistent straight stitches, run smoothly in both forward and reverse, and go from a slow speed to a very zippy all-out romp. -Irene I belong to a very good Featherweight group on Yahoo. Lots of people there will help you with advice about parts and attatchments. -- Kate XXXXXX Lady Catherine, Wardrobe Mistress of the Chocolate Buttons http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk Click on Kate's Pages and explore! |
